Duchwood Kennels has been in existence for over 25 years breeding quality, AKC-registered, Miniature Smooth Dachshunds for pet, show, and performance events. We are also involved in field trials, agility, and earth dog tests with titles in all of these venues. Our emphasis is on sound temperament and movement and we health test for hearing and sight. Most of our pet quality puppies are placed with families who have young children. We have also been breeding piebald (or spotted) mini smooth dachshunds since 1990 and are the breeders/owners of the world's first AKC champion piebald Dachshund. Occasionally, we have show and pet/performance quality puppies and adults available for sale. Pet puppies are always sold on spay/neuter contracts with limited AKC registration papers and health guarantees. People interested in a pet puppy should be prepared to provide references. Serious inquiries from established show breeders both here and abroad are invited for show-quality puppies as we do sell our good ones (have several FCI champions in other countries). Show pups will be sold on co-ownerships if we do not know you. Stud service is available to approved, show-quality bitches only. Duchwood Kennels will always take back any dog or pup we have sold at any time for any reason if the owner is not able to provide it with a loving home. We will find a good home for it or it will stay here permanently.
